Racing will begin an hour earlier than scheduled at Sale on Thursday in an attempt to beat the worst of a predicted heat wave.
The first race will now jump at noon with the last scheduled for 3.20pm.
The meeting is now a seven-race card with the original race eight deleted and intervals between races reduced.
Racing Victoria general manager Greg Carpenter said the safety and well-being of horses and jockeys was a priority.
Temperatures in the high 30s are forecast across Victoria on Thursday.
