New Ready 2 Race Sale set for Sydney in October

Inglis is thrilled to announce the launch of a high quality Ready 2 Race Sale to be conducted at Newmarket in early October during the height of the Sydney Spring Carnival.

“Both buyers and vendors have been demanding a quality ready to race sale in a major Australian racing centre to complement our select yearling sales and we are thrilled to launch this exciting new product to our clients,” said Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster.

“This sale will be different to any other two-year-old sale held in Australia. It will be selective in order to maintain a high standard to a growing buying bench.

“We are targeting professional breeze up vendors to support the sale, and offering attractive financial terms to assist them to pin hook the right types from Inglis yearling sales.

“I am also pleased to announce that respected NZ bloodstock agent Michael Wallace has been retained by Inglis to assist with the conduct of this new sale, including vendor liaison, buyer recruitment and facilitating breeze ups in New Zealand.

“Michael will work closely with our current NZ representative Michael Otto and Inglis Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy to ensure we are well resourced to conduct a top quality sale in Sydney.”

The new select Sydney Ready 2 Race Sale will feature two and three-year-olds superbly prepared to service the increasing demand for readymade racehorses in the Australian and Asian markets.

“We have already received confirmed support from leading pin hookers across Australia and New Zealand which will bring quality drafts to the inaugural Sydney Ready 2 Race Sale and given the popularity of Inglis yearlings at last year’s breeze up sales throughout Australasia we anticipate that support to grow,” Webster said.

“Breeze-ups will be conducted in New Zealand and Sydney in mid-September prior to the inaugural sale scheduled for Thursday 3 October 2013, two days prior to the Super-Saturday race day at Royal Randwick, featuring the Group 1 ATC Epsom Handicap,” Webster said.

Young gallopers purchased for as little as A$28,000 at Inglis’ Sydney Classic Yearling Sale in 2012 made up to NZ$300,000 at two-year-old sales, while Melbourne Premier was the source of two colts that made NZ$360,000 and NZ$350,000 at the same two-year-old sale after being purchased by their vendors for A$70,000 and A$60,000 respectively as yearlings.

Inglis has always been at the forefront of new technology in the thoroughbred auction world, with online bidding, online x-ray repository, advanced catalogue search functionality, Inglis Sale Day Live, Make-An-Offer Service and new iPad App just a few innovations paving an energising new path for the industry. Use of the latest technology will be an integral part of showcasing the racehorses catalogued in the Sydney Ready 2 Race Sale to buyers throughout the region.

“Continued feedback on all our advancements has allowed us to improve the level of service and customer experience for both buyers and sellers at our sales and we’ll definitely be looking to take our Ready 2 Race Sale to a level well above all other similar sales,” added Webster.

Inglis is offering a range of incentives to attract vendors and buyers to this sale. Vendors who nominate an entry for this sale prior to 1 July 2013 will receive a 50% discount on the standard entry fee of $1,100 including GST. A 50% reduction on nomination fees for the Inglis Race Series will also be offered to yearlings purchased from Inglis and re-offered at the Sydney Ready 2 Race Sale.
