Six jockeys have fallen foul of stewards on the final day of the Melbourne Cup carnival with five suspended for careless riding while Chad Schofield was outed for breaching the whip rules.
Ben Melham copped the heftiest suspension of 15 meetings for his winning ride on Dandino in the Group Three Queen's Cup.
Damien Oliver and Chad Schofield were both suspended out of Saturday's Group One Emirates Stakes.
Oliver pleaded guilty to shifting in early in the race on Disposition and was banned for eight meetings which ends after next Saturday's Zipping Classic meeting at Sandown.
Schofield was outed for six meetings and fined $2000 for using the whip 14 times before the 100m mark on He Or She, nine times more than allowed.
The jockey had been fined $400 earlier in the day for another breach of whip rules.
His ban starts after he rides in Hong Kong on Sunday.
Craig Williams and Blake Shinn were both outed for 12 meetings for their rides in the Starlight Children's Foundation Plate while Dom Tourneur received an eight-meeting ban from the same race.
