Golden Horn has been named Europe's Horse of the Year at the 25th annual Cartier Racing Awards in London.
The John Gosden-trained colt won four Group One races during the season including the Epsom Derby and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
Golden Horn saw off competition from Solow, Muhaarar and Legatissimo, while he also won the Three-Year-Old Colt award ahead of Muhaarar, Gleneagles and Jack Hobbs.
The Freddy Head-trained Solow gained some compensation, winning the Older Horse award after a season in which he landed the Queen Anne, the Sussex Stakes and the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.
Muhaarar, winner of the Commonwealth Cup, July Cup, Prix Maurice de Gheest and British Champion Sprint was the champion sprinter while Legatissimo led the three-year-old fillies.
St Leger winner Simple Verse became only the second three-year-old to win the Stayer award while both awards for star juveniles went to horses trained by Aidan O'Brien.
Two-Year-Old Colt honours were claimed by Air Force Blue while Minding was the champion filly.
