Kerrin McEvoy will be attempting to win a record fifth Sandown Guineas when he rides Flying Light in the Group Two race.
But markets suggest it's McEvoy's uncle Tony, the trainer of Guineas favourite Don't Doubt Mamma, who is more likely to be celebrating victory in Saturday's 1600m race.
Kerrin McEvoy has won four of the past seven Sandown Guineas with his victories on Caymans (2008), Kidnapped (2009), Tatra (2012) and Paximadia (2013) coming when he was stable rider for Sheikh Mohammed's Darley Australia.
If the David Hayes and Tom Dabernig-trained Flying Light, a $26 chance, can upstage his more fancied rivals on Saturday, McEvoy would become the first jockey to win the Sandown Guineas five times.
Damien Oliver, who misses Saturday's meeting through suspension, has also won four.
The Tony McEvoy-trained Don't Doubt Mamma, to be ridden by Dwayne Dunn, is at $3.80 ahead of the Darren Weir-trained Mahuta ($5.50) who has won his past three starts including the Carbine Club Stakes.
Don't Doubt Mamma was an impressive winner over 1400m during the Melbourne Cup carnival at Flemington and gets another chance to prove herself at 1600m having been beaten at her only attempt at the distance in the Edward Manifold Stakes.
