Recently-retired jockey Jim Cassidy will be honoured at Rosehill on Saturday with the Australian Turf Club to celebrate his distinguished career.
Known as The Pumper, Cassidy made the shock announcement of his retirement a week before his last scheduled Group One ride in the VRC Oaks at Flemington on November 5.
Unfortunately Dawnie Perfect was scratched on race morning, denying Cassidy the chance to add to his 104 Group One wins.
The New Zealand-born rider is one of only seven jockeys to win Australia's grand slam of the Golden Slipper, Caulfield Cup, Cox Plate and Melbourne Cup.
Highlights of Cassidy's career will be shown on the big screen throughout the meeting.
