Three-state entry Zayam Ballarat Cup bound

Thursday 19 November 2015, 4:56pm

Connections of Zayam have decided to tackle the Ballarat Cup on Saturday.

The Matthew Smith-trained stayer was also an acceptor in Sydney at Rosehill and Brisbane at Doomben on Saturday with the Ballarat Cup holding the most prize money.

Smith will travel with the stayer to Ballarat and is hoping the warm conditions that have been prevailing in Victoria won't see the track too firm on Saturday.

"His form this time in has been pretty good and we thought it was worthwhile having a throw at the stumps," Smith said.

The French-bred stayer, which did his early racing in France, is a $15 chance in an open Ballarat Cup that is headed by Ungrateful Ellen at $6.
