Premier Brisbane trainer Tony Gollan hopes to have four and possibly as many as six runners in the Group Three George Moore Stakes.

Gollan is keen to make a mark in the summer sprints and is off to a flying start with Traveston Girl winning the Listed Recognition Stakes on Saturday.

His George Moore runners at Doomben this week will be headed by multiple black-type winners Fontelina and Temple of Boom who are returning to Brisbane after campaigning in Melbourne.

"I'm not all that sure the Flemington sprint form will hold up because the way the track played and the amount of interference in races," Gollan said.

"I hope to have four runners."

Gollan has a huge lead in the Brisbane trainers' premiership with 34 metropolitan winners this season which is 20 in front of arch rival Rob Heathcote.

"I really hope to have a big summer this year. We were a bit away from things in the winter and then we were quiet during the spring," Gollan said,

"But I had planned to have a big summer and Traveston Girl got us off on the right leg. The George Moore has a long history of being won by good horses."

There were 19 nominations taken on Monday with Gollan also entering Casual Choice, Gundy Spirit, Didn'tcostalot and Whiskey Allround who is also nominated for the Starlight Stakes in Sydney.

The George Moore is the first leg of the Brisbane summer sprint triple crown and is followed by the Listed Lough Neagh Stakes (1350m) and the Listed Bernborough Hcp.

Last year it was won by the NSW country galloper Big Money who went on to also win the Lough Neagh.

Some of the other notable winners have included elite sprinters Takeover Target, Chief De Beers and Lucky Hussler.
