Cox Plate placegetter Highland Reel will be out to give champion Irish trainer Aidan O'Brien his first win at Hong Kong's International meeting when he runs in the Vase.
The colt was a dominant winner of the Group One Secretariat Stakes in the United States in August and ran third behind Winx and Criterion in the Cox Plate.
Among his opponents in the Vase (2400m) on Sunday week will be dual Australian Group One winner Preferment who is having his first start since being unplaced in the Melbourne Cup.
"Highland Reel was a little unlucky not to be second in the Cox Plate but we were very happy with his run and he's been in good form since," O'Brien told the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
"He is a very uncomplicated and tactically versatile horse, which makes the jockey's life a lot easier.
"I think both the likely ground and the track at Sha Tin should suit him well."
Criterion, third in the Melbourne Cup, will represent Australia in the Hong Kong Cup (2000m) along with Lucia Valentina.
