Golden Slipper favourite Capitalist is ready to begin the build-up to the $3.5 million race.
Trained by Peter and Paul Snowden, the colt is scheduled to run in a barrier trial on Tuesday.
The winner of the Breeders' Plate in October, Capitalist is at $8 to win the world's richest race for two-year-olds in March.
He is being challenged for favouritism by Godolphin's Astern, a winner at Randwick on Saturday.
When the TAB's market opened last week, Astern was at $101 but firmed to $11 immediately after Saturday's race.
He is now a $9 chance with stablemate Calliope, winner of the Gimcrack Stakes, at $15 alongside the unraced Defcon from the Snowden stable.
