Matt Laurie has mixed feelings about Constant Justice chasing a hat-trick of wins at Sandown.

Another win would be a career boost for the trainer, but it could also see Constant Justice headed to Asia.

Constant Justice has won his past two starts on the provincial circuit and ventures to the metropolitan area for the first time in the Thanks For The Memories Pumper Handicap.

"If he happened to win his rating would probably be good enough to go to Hong Kong. If he didn't he's probably a really good Singapore-type of horse," Laurie said.

"I'd love to keep him, but I'm a realist, and I don't know if that's going to happen.

"I just want to keep the boss happy so he keeps sending me more horses."

Laurie said he had around 15 horses for Robert Ng, who's Lucky Racing syndicate races horses in Hong Kong and Singapore.

He said a chance meeting with Ng's racing manager saw him entrusted with a number of the owner's Australian racing stock.

Laurie said Constant Justice was in his first preparation and while he's the winner of two of his five starts, the record could be better.

The son of Magnus ran second at Bendigo on debut over 1000m before stepping up in trip for a fourth placing at Pakenham over 1200m.

He has since been dropped back to 1000m, the distance of Wednesday's race, at his past three starts, registering a fifth at Mornington before successes in his last two runs.

"He was unlucky at two of his first three starts," Laurie said.

"We were hoping that he'd just keep going forward and stay on that upward path and get a win and he followed it through with another one."
