Peter Robl given stables at Randwick

Tuesday 15 December 2015, 6:58am

Popular former jockey Peter Robl just needs the stamp of approval from Racing NSW to begin his new career as a trainer.

The Australian Turf Club has granted Robl boxes at Randwick where he will train a team of horses for Kevin Maloney's Segenhoe organisation.

Robl's riding career ended when he suffered serious neck and spinal injuries in a fall at Orange in January last year.

He has since worked as an assistant to David Vandyke and John Sargent.

"I just need to go to Racing NSW now with the paperwork and hopefully that will be approved soon," Robl said.

"I'm looking forward to taking three or four horses up to the Magic Millions next month if it is all sorted before Christmas."
