Michael Freedman, the younger brother of Hall of Fame trainer Lee Freedman, will open stables in Sydney next year.
Freedman has been granted boxes at Rosehill and he plans to be up and running in time for the Sydney autumn carnival after training in Singapore for the past eight years.
"I am looking to start operating out of my new complex at Rosehill in early March, 2016," Freedman wrote on his website michaelfreedmanracing.com.au.
Freedman worked alongside his brothers Lee, Richard and Anthony in a partnership that took Australian racing by storm from the late 1980s.
They won every major race on the Australian calendar becoming known as racing's FBI - or Freedman Brothers Incorporated.
Lee Freedman quit training for several years but has returned to form a partnership with Anthony, working out of Flemington while Michael has made his way to be among the top trainers in Singapore.
He trained 12 Group One winners in Singapore.
Among them was two-time Horse of the Year Super Easy while he also landed wins in Singapore's major two-year-old races.
The decision to return to Australia will ensure Freedman is an active buyer at next year's round of Australian yearling sales, starting with the Magic Millions auction next month.
Freedman said he had fielded interest from some of his owners in Singapore to support his new venture in Sydney.
He said it was a family decision to return to Australia and acknowledged it would be a difficult challenge to set up a new stable.
"It's been a great experience and beneficial to my career and hopefully I can carry it on when I get back to Australia," Freedman said.
