British jumps jockey Richard Johnson has ridden his 3000th career winner as he continues his march to a first champion title.
Johnson has finished second 16 times to the now-retired and newly knighted Tony McCoy.
Four of Johnson's wins have come on the flat with another two overseas with McCoy still the only jockey to ride 3000 winners over jumps in Britain and Ireland.
Riding St Saviour for his boss Philip Hobbs, Johnson steered the horse to a straightforward win at Ludlow.
"My first winner was Rusty Bridge (1994) at Hereford for my grandad, Ivor. At that stage I thought I was just going to be an amateur jockey riding a few point-to-point winners," Johnson said in his Betway blog.
