Desleigh Forster has confirmed the retirement of veteran sprinter Adebisi but has plenty to look forward to with a couple of more-than-handy three-year-olds.

Adebisi finished unplaced in an open sprint at Doomben on Saturday and his emotional trainer immediately announced it had been his last race.

The eight-year-old stable stalwart had 57 starts, winning 12 races and being placed 10 times, earning prize money of $881,000.

He won stakes races in three states, taking the Group Three Rubiton Stakes at Caulfield, the Listed Razor Sharp Stakes at Warwick Farm, and the Group Three George Moore Stakes and the Listed Bribie Handicap at Doomben.

His best run was probably as a two-year-old when a close fourth behind future Group One stars Pressday, Spirit of Boom and Buffering in the Doomben Champagne Classic.

"We had a wonderful time with him," Forster said.

"He will now go to the paddock and be used as a mentor for younger horses."

"He cost only $15,000 but we have had 100 times that amount of fun with him."

While Forster didn't have a winner at Doomben on Saturday, she was happy with Too Good To Refuse's fourth on the soft track.

Forster said Too Good To refuse would next head to Sydney where he will tackle the Hobartville Stakes as a lead-up to the Group One Randwick Guineas.

"It is probably the best batch of three-year-olds we have seen in Brisbane for a good while and Too Good To Refuse has had to give them weight," she said.

"He did exactly what I wanted him to do. He settled and then hit the line hard to be in a photo for third."

Too Good To Refuse finished fifth in the Group One Spring Champion Stakes in October after being checked early in the race.

His stablemate, I'm Belucci, finished second, 1-1/4 lengths behind Vanburgh and will have his second start this preparation on Saturday week at Doomben.

He will also head to Sydney and hopefully make his way to the Australian Derby.
