Aerovelocity back to best at Sha Tin

Champion Hong Kong sprinter Aerovelocity has made a winning return in the Group One Centenary Sprint at Sha Tin.

The Paul O'Sullivan-trained gelding missed the chance to defend his International Sprint title in December when he was found to be suffering a heart irregularity.

The winner of Group One races in Singapore and Japan last year, Aerovelocity beat off Gold-Fun and Peniaphobia to win on Sunday but not without drama.

Joao Moreira, who ride the third placegetter, fired in an unsuccessful protest against Zac Purton on the winner.

Purton was suspended for interference at the 150 metres.

Hugh Bowman made an overnight trip from Sydney to partner former Australian sprinter Not Listenin'tome who was luckless in the run and finished seventh.
