Weekend winners for Uncle Mo

Monday 1 February 2016, 3:34pm

Todd Pletcher unleashed another promising winner for leading young sire Uncle Mo with Mo Power (3c Uncle Mo x Rhiana, by Runaway Groom) saluting at Gulfstream on Saturday.

Sent out favourite after finishing second on debut in December, Mo Power found the line strongly to win the one mile maiden by a length.

A $60,000 Keeneland September Yearling purchase that went on to make $325,000 at the OBS April 2YO Sale, Mo Power is a half-brother to Grade II winner Belindaatthebar from grade III placed Rhiana.

Also successful for Uncle Mo when scoring on debut at Fair Grounds on the weekend was Shaken (3f Uncle Mo x Seattle Shimmer, by Seattle Slew), who won the six furlong maiden by a length and a half.

Uncle Mo has had 85 starters of which 31 were winners, 29 of those being in the Northern Hemisphere (80 starters) whilst in the Southern Hemisphere, Uncle Mo has had five starters for two wins.
