Mick Price can further bolster the strength of his stable's two-year-old ranks when Fuse makes his debut at Caulfield.
Price already has a solid hand in the Group One Blue Diamond Stakes with Extreme Choice and Flying Artie prominent in betting.
Extreme Choice, a debut Randwick winner in December, returns in the $150,000 Chairman's Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday while Fuse steps out in the Inglis Premier Stakes, a sales-restricted race.
A son of Smart Missile, Fuse won a jump-out at Caulfield on Tuesday to convince Price the colt is ready to go to the races.
"Given it's a Melbourne Premier race and he's a Melbourne Premier horse and it's worth $250,000, you've got to go and do the right thing by the owners and see if he can be effective in it," Price said.
A $170,000 yearling purchase, Fuse has been part of the jump-out scene at Caulfield in recent weeks.
He was pushed along in a hit-out at the track last week but had blinkers fitted on Tuesday.
"He was much better in blinkers this morning and he'll run in blinkers," Price said.
"I'm pretty happy with him and he's a horse that will be even better suited once he gets up and racing."
Craig Newitt will ride Fuse.
