Williams appeal dismissed before RAD Board

Tuesday 9 February 2016, 10:59am

Jockey Craig Williams had his appeal against the severity of a careless riding suspension dismissed by the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board.

He will now miss the Group One ride aboard Rising Romance in Saturday's CF Orr Stakes at Caulfield.

Other rides he will forego include Weatherly in the Blue Diamond Prelude for colts and geldings, Calliope in the fillies division, Holler in the Autumn Stakes and Kuro in the Rubiton Stakes.

Williams was suspended for eight meetings at Caulfield last Saturday.

He gained a release from his mounts at Hobart on Monday and appealed the severity in the hope of getting a day shaved off the suspension to return for Saturday's meeting.

His ban finishes at the end of the Orr Stakes meeting.
