The trial of 30 minute gaps between races in Victoria will be extended for another week.
Racing Victoria began the trial on Saturday when several Caulfield races were pushed to Sky Racing's subscription channel because of scheduling conflicts with other venues.
RV chief executive Bernard Saundry says moving the races to the second channel compromised the data on the experiment.
"The move of the majority of our weekend races to Sky Racing's secondary channel has compromised our ability to capture relevant and effective data on both wagering and the off-course experience and as a result we now need to extend the trial for a further week," Saundry said.
He said there had been positive feedback on the change from 40 minute gaps but more data was needed for the trial.
He said RV would meet with Racing NSW on Friday to discuss the possibility of a co-ordinated national trial.
