Sky Racing will make its subscription channel available free on Saturday to accommodate any clashes of metropolitan races with Victoria's decision to continue a trial of shortened race days.
Racing Victoria has extended its trial of 30 minute gaps between races for another week.
Last Saturday, punters were unable to see several races from Caulfield because they were bumped to channel 520 from the wall-to-wall channel.
On Saturday, five races in Sydney and Melbourne including the Group Two Apollo Stakes at Randwick and the Group One Orr Stakes at Caulfield, will be run within five minutes of each other.
"Sky Racing will be doing its very best to minimise the significant disruption that punters will experience, which is often challenging in a live racing environment where races can run late due to circumstances beyond the control of the respective clubs," Sky's owner, Tabcorp, said in a statement.
"As a one-off, Sky Racing2 (Channel 520) will be opened up this weekend and be on the base tier for FOXTEL home viewers."
Victorian and NSW racing officials will meet on Friday to discuss the situation.
