Leading jockey Sam Clipperton has been suspended for using his whip almost three times more than allowed under Australian racing rules.
Clipperton pleaded guilty to striking Second Obsession on 14 occasions, including 11 consecutively, before the 100m of a race at Hawkesbury on Thursday.
Jockeys are restricted to using their whip five times before the 100m.
Second Obsession raced outside the leader before being beaten a half neck into second place.
Clipperton's suspension will start on Monday and he will miss the Silver Slipper Stakes meeting at Rosehill on February 20.
He will return for a midweek city meeting at Rosehill on February 24.
Clipperton's rides at Randwick on Saturday include Godolphin stayer Hauraki in the Apollo Stakes and Peeping in the Triscay Stakes.
