Former top juvenile Whiskey Allround has ended a frustrating run of bad luck in stakes races to continue trainer Tony Gollan's plunder of Brisbane feature events.

Whiskey Allround, sent out favourite at $3.60, enjoyed the run of the race before beating Espiritu ($6.50) by a length with a short half-head to Weinholt ($6.60) in the $100,000 Listed Favleon Handicap at Doomben on Saturday.

Now a five-year-old, Whiskey Allround had raced in stakes class 11 times without winning although he finished second to Sweet Idea in the 2013 Group Two Silver Slipper.

"This horse has been very frustrating," Gollan said.

"He showed as a two-year-old he was top class but he lost his way a bit."

Gollan said he had no major plans for Whiskey Allround at this stage of his career.

"He is a gelding and in winning form so we will keep him going and look for something where he won't be weighted out of it," he said.

It was Gollan's eighth Brisbane stakes win in 2015-2016 and took him to 59 wins for the season, 20 short of his Brisbane record.

Jockey Jim Byrne scored his fifth stakes win of the season on Whiskey Allround and they have all been for the Gollan stable.

"It is great to ride for Tony and he turns his horses out ready to win," Byrne said.

Promising Right or Wrong ($2.05) could have his campaign extended after scoring another impressive win in the Height 4 Hire Handicap.

Trainer Lindsay Gough had planned to spell Right Or Wrong but admitted he was having second thoughts.

Caloundra apprentice Sarah Eilbeck continued her good form, riding a metropolitan winner for the second time in her first two weeks in city racing.

Eilbeck's mount Doula ($11) got up by a nose to Fiercely Defiant ($11).

"Doula is just below the better horses but she tries hard. I thought she was beaten a few times in the straight but she dug deep," said trainer Steve Tregea.

Chief steward Alan Reardon said the favourite Katy's Son ($2.50) had bled for a second time, earning a lifetime bar from racing after finishing seventh.
