A predicted high afternoon temperature of 41 degrees has prompted Victorian authorities to start Tuesday's Bendigo meeting at 10am.
The last race on the nine-event program will be run at 2pm in an attempt to avoid the predicted high.
RV's racing operations manager Paul Bloodworth said the shortened times of 30 minutes between races would also help the club to get through the meeting.
Extra veterinarians will be on course to inspect horses and monitor post-race recovery.
Large containers of ice water in mobile containers will also be available around the racecourse with the time horses spend in the mounting yard reduced.
