Expressions of interest are invited in one of Australasia’s most consistent Group 1 producing sires, STRATUM. Our client will sell as a package of shares or individual shares are also available.
The Golden Slipper winning son of Redoute’s Choice sired a Golden Slipper winner himself in Crystal Lily, who came from his first crop. He has sired 28 stakes winners including four time Group 1 winner STREAMA. Known for consistently siring Group 1 horses year after year, his current flag-bearer is STRATUM STAR who hails from the stable of Melbourne Cup winning trainer Darren Weir. Stratum Star had a tremendous Spring Campaign taking out the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes and was a close third in the Group 1 Toorak Handicap.
Stratum’s ability to sire a good racehorse is without question and his performance in the sales ring as a sire has been outstanding which is indicative of the quality that shines through his progeny. During the 2015 sales season James Harron Bloodstock went to $620,000 for a Stratum yearling colt. Other highlighted lots include a filly bought by Paul Perry Racing for $340,000, a colt purchased by George Moore Bloodstock for $300,000 and many other lots fetching upwards of $150,000 some of which were bought by the best judges in Australasia. Stratum has commenced the 2016 sales season in great style with a top lot of $320,000 and has 10 yearlings catalogued for Inglis Premier Yearling Sale and 11 for the Inglis Australian Easter Sale. His average is currently $126,100 which is three times greater than his service fee of $38,500.
