Trainer Gerald Ryan isn't making Golden Slipper promises when it comes to assessing the Randwick chances of Tale Of Choice.
Tale Of Choice is a last-start winner at midweek level and Ryan says it's not beyond the well-bred filly to figure in the Sweet Embrace Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.
The Sweet Embrace winner earns a ballot-free path into the Golden Slipper but Ryan said getting a start in the world's richest two-year-old race isn't the motivation for Tale Of Choice to measure up.
"The main thing at the moment is to try to win a race to get some some black type again her name. She is a well-bred filly," the trainer said.
"I don't think she is a Slipper horse but a race like the Magic Night Stakes is there."
Unbeaten filly Scarlet Rain is the $2.70 favourite to win the Sweet Embrace for Gai Waterhouse and jockey Kathy O'Hara.
Scarlet Rain has posted successive wins, the latest over Twist Tops at Randwick a month ago.
Twist Tops has since confirmed the worth of the form by winning a rich sales-restricted race and the Kris Lee-trained filly is on the second line of betting at $4.80.
Godolphin colt Telperion holds Skyline Stakes favouritism over stablemate Souchez after winning the Lonhro Plate.
James McDonald rides Telperion with William Buick being flown in from Dubai to take the mount on Souchez.
