Former Golden Slipper favourite Capitalist is receiving treatment for muscle soreness in his back but co-trainer Peter Snowden says he has no lameness.
Capitalist was beaten as the odds-on favourite in Saturday's Todman Stakes after which Racing NSW chief vet Craig Suann said he was showing mild lameness in his forelegs.
Snowden said the colt trotted and cantered on Monday morning and he was confident Capitalist would not miss any work in the lead-up to the $3.5 million Slipper on Saturday week.
Stewards said Capitalist would still have to undergo an inspection before the race.
Blue Diamond Stakes winner Extreme Choice is now the $2.80 favourite for the Golden Slipper ahead of his Mick Price-trained stablemate Flying Artie at $6.
The Gai Waterhouse-trained Kiss And Make Up, who won the Todman, is now at $8 with Capitalist out to $11.
Capitalist's stablemate Defcon has firmed from $26 to $15 following his win in Sunday's Black Opal Stakes.
