The Golden Slipper might come too soon for a couple of the two-year-olds in Gerald Ryan's stable but they will be given the chance to prove otherwise.
The final two guaranteed spots in the $3.5 million Golden Slipper are on the line in Saturday's Magic Night and Pago Pago Stakes at Rosehill.
Ryan has Tale Of Choice and Suspenders in the Magic Night for fillies and Aviator in the Pago Pago for their male counterparts.
"I'm not sure if any of them will run in the Slipper if they get through," Ryan said.
"The owners of Suspenders are keen to run if she happens to win so we'll see.
"But I doubt if Tale Of Choice or Aviator would run."
Hong Kong-based Australian Brett Prebble, who is on Azkadellia in the Group One Coolmore Classic, will take the ride on Tale Of Choice while Christian Reith, rider of the upset Randwick Guineas winner, Le Romain, is on Suspenders.
There were 21 entries taken on Monday for the Magic Night including Calliope, a late scratching from the Reisling Stakes.
The Godolphin filly was one of the favourites on Saturday but was withdrawn when she got her foot over the partition in her barrier.
She is at No.20 in the order of entry for the Slipper which has a field maximim of 16 but already a couple above her will not run with Zelady's Night Out back home in Brisbane and Reisling winner French Fern unlikely.
Godolphin's leading Slipper hope, Astern, is at the top of the ballot order courtesy of his Silver Slipper win but he missed his Todman Stakes lead-up when he was found to have a temperature late last week.
He will instead run in an 800m barrier trial at Warwick Farm on Thursday.
Mick Price-trained stablemates Extreme Choice and Flying Artie will be given a right-handed gallop at Caulfield on Tuesday ahead of a float trip to Sydney later this week.
Extreme Choice beat Flying Artie to win the Blue Diamond Stakes and they fill the top two spots in the Golden Slipper market.
