The Easter break will bring high-profile names to Adelaide, with racegoers at Oakbank having the chance to catch Michelle Payne in action.
The Melbourne Cup winning jockey has been named the Easter carnival's ambassador and is expected to ride on Easter Sunday and Monday.
It will be a family affair, with Payne's brother, Patrick, also taking horses to South Australia for the famous jumps racing carnival.
The trainer will be hoping for a third Great Eastern Steeplechase win in a row for Lord Of The Song.
The Oakbank Easter Carnival has been an annual affair for South Australians for 140 years with more than 60,000 people expected to attend.
Oakbank chairman John Glatz says while Payne will be a big drawcard, the carnival will still include its traditions like the Giant Easter Egg hunt.
Since her Melbourne Cup win, Michelle Payne has enjoyed a much higher profile, so much so she will have a feature film made about her win, staring Rachel Griffiths.
