WHAT THE JOCKEYS SAID AFTER THE GOLDEN SLIPPER AT ROSEHILL
BLAKE SHINN (Capitalist) 1st: "We got a great run in transit, they went fast. I let Flying Artie cross me and was three back the fence and he settled so well. I was waiting for my options around the 600 metres. He sprinted hard when I took a gap underneath Honesty Prevails and he really hit the line hard."
ZAC PURTON (Yankee Rose) 2nd: "Great effort. Probably a little bit slow to begin but I was able to hold a good spot, lovely run in the race. Just the whip rules, if I had have been able to get into her a little bit earlier I think she might have made it very interesting."
DAMIEN OLIVER (Flying Artie) 3rd: "It was a good effort, he had every chance. Landed a bit closer than I expected but he fought it out really bravely but just had a couple better today."
JAMES DOYLE (Telperion) 4th: "Pretty pleased with that actually, I was just a little bit lost early on. We got round the turn then got lost again when I asked him to go and quicken. Good run."
JASON COLLETT (Honesty Prevails) 5th: "Great run. Landed in a really nice spot. Look forward to her future."
DWAYNE DUNN (Star Turn) 6th: "He ran pretty well for a 60-1 chance. Did a few things wrong in the run. He's going to be a nice horse in the future."
THOMAS HUET (Sweet Sherry) 7th: "Good run. It was not the plan to lead but no there was no speed early, so she had a soft lead and she picked it up quick just lost it in the last 150m."
CRAIG NEWITT (Extreme Choice) 8th: "Disappointing. I don't think he went 100 metres without getting interfered with the whole race. For him to get as close as he did his run was outstanding."
DAMIAN LANE (Quick Feet) 9th: "She ran well, probably down in the inferior part of the track but stuck on well."
HUGH BOWMAN (Good Standing) 10th: "He ran below expectations. He just wasn't quite ready to cope with the high pressure of the Golden Slipper. He's going to be one to do well in the future."
JAMES McDONALD (Astern) 11th: "He worked quite hard to get across, travelled well for a furlong but he was the first horse beaten, it was quite surprising."
SAM CLIPPERTON (Calliope) 12th: "After that bit of commotion (behind the barrier) she actually jumped quite well and it just took me too long to get her back."
BRETT PREBBLE (Defcon) 13th: "I think the big day proved a bit too much for him. He got a bit agitated and was quite naughty behind the barriers. From the 600 metres he was off the bridle and chasing once that happened I was in trouble."
OPIE BOSSON (French Fern) 14th: "She was under pressure a long way out."
KERRIN McEVOY (Kiss And Make Up) 15th: "We were a little bit further back than we planned to be. Had a spot with a bit of cover but he just didn't act and corner that well around the bend here at Rosehill. It was almost like the Rosehill bend was too sharp for him. He is better than that, just look for him next preparation."
TOMMY BERRY (Scarlet Rain) 16th: "She didn't show that customary speed she has and even where she was she was off the bit and struggling to be there. She did make a noise when she was coming back in."
