The curtain will close on the training career of Peter Moody for the immediate future after the William Reid Stakes meeting at Moonee Valley.
The trainer of unbeaten champion Black Caviar is closing down his training operation as he begins a six-month cobalt suspension at the conclusion of Thursday night's meeting at which he has six runners.
Moody has left the door open for a return in the future but not as a large public trainer.
Flamberge and Kinglike will represent Moody in the Group One William Reid Stakes, chasing a 54th win for the trainer at the highest level.
Kinglike is a $7.50 chance with Flamberge at $13.
Last year's William Reid winner Lucky Hussler is the $3.40 favourite ahead of a firming Holler, unbeaten in two Moonee Valley starts, now at $4.
Better Land opens the meeting for Moody in the ADAPT Australia Stakes and is an $8 chance while his final three starters Dig A Pony ($26), Metaphorical ($11) and Anfitriona ($41) will all contest the Group Two Sunline Stakes.
