Najmaat could join Lindsay Park's Sydney string after a first-up win at Caulfield.
Najmaat took full advantage of her inside draw to hold off stablemate Highland Beat in the Robert Taranto Handicap on Saturday.
Ridden by Nick Hall, Najmaat ($4.80) scored by a half length from Highland Beat ($5.50) with Gretna ($5) two lengths away third.
Co-trainer Tom Dabernig said Najmaat could head to Randwick for the Percy Sykes Stakes on the second day of The Championships.
"She's a filly that we've always had an opinion of," Dabernig said.
"We fancied her first time out but she did a bit wrong on that occasion and pulled up a little bit stung up in the shins.
"Today she had the advantage of barrier one and had a great run in the race and was able to put them away."
Dabernig said the stable had considered the daughter of Hinchinbrook a possible Blue Diamond contender, but the race came around too soon.
He said Highland Beat, which was backed from $9 to $5.50, appreciated being ridden quietly.
"He's done a bit of travelling to the Gold Coast for the Magic Millions and he ran in the Blue Diamond here," Dabernig said.
"I think we've found the secret with him as he's better off ridden back and allowed to finish off."
