Trainer Kelly Doughty paid Time To Torque a big compliment, rating the three-year-old alongside close relation Black Cash.
Time To Torque ($3.10) came from last to win the Channel 7 Plate by 3/4 length at Ipswich on Wednesday.
The gelding is by top Sire Show A Heart out of the Sea Road mare Eminence Grise which makes him a brother to Black Cash.
Doughty trained Black Cash to win seven races, including the 2013 Flemington Subzero Challenge on the way to banking $491,000 in prize money.
"Time To Torque reminds me of Black Cash and I think he might even go on to be better performed," Doughty said.
Caloundra trainer Stuart Kendrick made the right decision when he ran Peking Road ($7) instead of going to Doomben on Saturday.
Peking Road led all the way to continue the good run for Kendrick and Brisbane Race Club chairman Neville Bell who bred and owns the filly.
"It will be a good form race because there isn't much difference at the moment between Saturday and midweek two-year-olds.," Kendrick said.
"There were some promising horses in this race."
Another Caloundra trainer, Daryl Hansen, also continued his successful association with Mt Isa's Saunders family when Beaudragon won the Sirromet Plate.
Hansen won the Magic Millions 2YO Classic for the Saunders family with Le Chef and also has had a lot of success with their smart sprinter Le Cap.
Deagon trainer Doug Roberts and Torryburn Stud owner John Cornish also continued their run of success when Magic Mouse ($5) won.
"Magic Mouse is very well bred and John wants to win some races with her before she is off to stud," Roberts said.
