Betting on the Queen Elizabeth Stakes has been suspended because of uncertainty over Winx taking her place in the field.
Before Racing NSW stewards ordered bookmakers to suspend betting at 4pm on Monday afternoon, the star mare had eased from $1.50 to $1.90 with the TAB.
Stewards said they had taken the action in the knowledge that substantial wagering was taking place on an all-in basis.
Acceptances for Saturday's $4 million race are taken on Tuesday after which refunds for scratchings are in place.
