Apprentice Regan Bayliss has been suspended for 21 meetings for careless riding after fellow junior rider Ben Thompson was involved in a fall at Sandown.
Thompson was able to walk away from the fall on Wednesday and fulfilled the rest of his rides.
Stewards charged Bayliss for shifting out on Angelic Lass, resulting in another horse being taken out and causing Ben Thompson's mount Leia to be tightened for room.
Bayliss pleaded guilty.
In suspending Bayliss, stewards said they took into account a contributing factor when Chris Symons' mount Kalidaz shifted away from Bayliss' horse.
His suspension is due to start after Saturday's Sandown meeting and he can resume on April 27.
Bayliss has recently transferred his indentures to the Lindsay Park team of David Hayes and Tom Dabernig after working for Peter Moody until the Caulfield trainer closed his business after a six-month suspension.
