Damien Oliver suspended for Aust Oaks ride

Saturday 9 April 2016, 6:35pm

Damien Oliver's double Group One day has ended with a six-meeting suspension for two incidents of interference in the Australian Oaks.

Oliver finished fourth on the $3.20 favourite Jameka but was judged to have shifted in causing interference to Diamond Made and Alaskan Rose.

Kerrin McEvoy, Mark Zahra and Paul King were also suspended for careless riding in other races.

Oliver won the Queen of the Turf Stakes on Jameka's Ciaron Maher-trained stablemate Azkadellia and steered Lucia Valentina to victory in the $4 million Queen Elizabeth Stakes for trainer Kris Lees.

He also won the Provincial Championship Final on the Lees-trained Danish Twist.
