Yankee Rose short odds for G1 Champagne

Monday 11 April 2016, 5:53pm

Yankee Rose is odds-on to win her second Group One race in the Champagne Stakes.

Yankee Rose is the $1.40 favourite with the TAB to make it back-to-back elite wins after claiming the Sires' Produce Stakes at her last start.

The race has been kind to favourites who have won four of the past five Champagnes.

Pierro won the race at $1.22 in 2012, while Dance Hero was a $1.40 chance when he won in 2004.

Godolphin colt Obscura is on the second line of betting at $5 and Divine Prophet is third pick at $8.

The Chris Waller-trained Press Statement leads the market for the Group One All Aged Stakes, rated a $3.50 chance to win the weight-for-age contest.

English and Malaguerra share the second line at $4.60, while former WA galloper Black Heart Bart is at $5.50 to win the race at his third start for trainer Darren Weir.

Press Statement's stablemate Kermadec is $7 to win the All Aged where he drops in distance to 1400m after a disappointing last in the Doncaster Mile at his most recent start.

Nominations in both races, the final Group One races run in Sydney for the season, have been extended until Tuesday morning.
