Mick Price will chase a stakes win in Adelaide with Mefnooda after the mare scored a determined win at Caulfield.
The daughter of Medaglia D'Oro's win in the Hyderabad RC Handicap on Saturday was her fourth from her past five outings.
Ridden by Craig Newitt and sent out the $3.10 favourite, Mefnooda scored a three-quarter length win from Kansas Sunflower ($5) with Inishowen ($17) a head away third.
Price said Mefnooda would now head to Adelaide for her next start in the Group Two Queen Of The South Stakes at Morphettville on May 7.
He said the four-year-old had taken time to grow into her body but now was right to give her a shot at stakes level.
"She's a nice mare that has been immature," Price said.
"She had a poor appetite and a pair of knees that needed to mature so this is going to be her best prep.
"She's well bred, out of a stakes winner called One World, so it would be great if we could get some genuine black type with her.
"The Queen Of The South over a mile in Adelaide in a couple of weeks might just catch her right."
