Three riders suspended at Caulfield

Saturday 23 April 2016, 6:38pm

Ben Melham is one of three riders suspended at Caulfield and he is set to miss a Saturday meeting and also the three-day Warrnambool carnival.

Melham was banned for 12 meetings after pleading guilty to careless riding aboard Grey Street at the 150m mark of Saturday's The Grand Hotel Frankston Handicap.

His ban is due to start after Tuesday and he can return on Saturday, May 7.

Luke Nolen said he would consider appealing an eight-meeting suspension after being found guilty of careless riding for shifting out aboard Kapset at the 700m mark of the Selangor Turf Club Handicap (1800m).

Nolen was also fined $400 for not weighing in on Kapset.

Apprentice Ben Thompson was the third rider suspended at Caulfield, receiving eight meetings for careless riding aboard Here To There in the Wellington R.C. Handicap.

Thompson was also suspended for eight meetings at Pakenham on Thursday night so he will be out until May 10.
