Dwayne Dunn suspended at Sandown

Wednesday 27 April 2016, 5:56pm

A Sandown double has taken Dwayne Dunn to the top of the Melbourne jockeys' premiership but his day has been soured by a careless riding suspension.

The double aboard Jezzabba in the Beck Property Group Plate and All About Rhythm in the Catanach's Jewellers Plate took Dunn to 50 city winners for the season, one clear of Craig Williams.

Dunn was suspended aboard Spectacular Vision for causing interference to Damien Oliver's mount Are The Bungs In at the 200m mark of the Schweppes Handicap and he received a seven meeting ban.

His suspension was due to start following Saturday's Caulfield meeting, but Dunn has gained a release from those rides and starts his suspension immediately.

He will now return in time for the Warrnambool Cup on the final day of next week's three-day carnival and plans to ride at the Wagga Cup meeting on May 6.

Dunn also has bookings in Adelaide on Saturday week for Don't Doubt Mamma in the Group One Sangster Stakes and Under The Louvre in the Group Two D C McKay Stakes.
