Darren Weir has been a dominant force on the opening two days of the Warrnambool carnival and is favoured to add the Warrnambool Cup to his haul of winners.
Weir has trained six winners over the opening two days of the three-day carnival including Gingerboy who took out Wednesday's Galleywood Hurdle.
The Melbourne Cup-winning trainer will be chasing a third-straight Warrnambool Cup on Thursday with Master Zephyr the $3 favourite.
Weir won with Akzar two years ago and Tall Ship last year.
Along with last start Terang Cup winner Master Zephyr, Weir also has Master Of Arts ($7.50) and Falago ($9.50) in the Listed race over 2350 metres.
Thursday's meeting also features the $300,000 Grand Annual Steeplechase with the Gai Waterhouse-trained Valediction favourite to add the race to his Brierly Steeplechase win on Tuesday.
Waterhouse also has Cafe Society in the Warrnambool Cup.
