The barrier draw put an end to plans to run Every Faith in a Group Two race in Adelaide last weekend and trainer Robert Smerdon has turned his attention closer to home.
Every Faith, a last-start winner at Flemington on April 25, is entered for Saturday's Tile Importer City Timber Handicap on her home track at Caulfield.
She was scratched from last Saturday's Queen Of The South Stakes at Morphettville when she drew gate 18.
"That was the race we hoped to get to but when she drew so poorly we just put the white flag up," Smerdon said.
"So we opted to wait for this race and she's drawn OK, but not great."
Every Faith has barrier eight in a field of 15 with Chris Parnham booked for the ride.
The mare won by a length against her own sex over 1610m last time out.
"She seems to be going pretty good," Smerdon said.
"(The Flemington race) was a benchmark 84 and she's stepping up to open grade on Saturday against the males."
Smerdon has five horses entered for Saturday's Caulfield meeting but said dual acceptor Ability would more than likely run in Adelaide.
