Date set for Australian Oaks fall inquiry

Sunday 15 May 2016, 5:10pm

Damien Oliver will fly to Sydney for an inquiry into a fall in the Australian Oaks in which fellow jockey Kathy O'Hara was injured.

Blake Shinn has also been called to Wednesday's hearing into the incident at Randwick on April 9.

O'Hara's mount Single Gaze stumbled and fell at the top of the home straight leaving her rider with several injuries, the most serious a dislocated sternoclavicular joint which needed surgery to help her breathing.

Single Gaze came through relatively unscathed while O'Hara's recovery is progressing well.

The inquiry was delayed until all three riders could attend.

Oliver is serving a one-month suspension for failing a breathalyser test at the Warrnambool carnival which could well derail his defence of the Melbourne premiership.
