Too Good To Refuse bids for Stradbroke Hcp

Friday 20 May 2016, 2:56pm

Trainer Desleigh Forster is happy to accept responsibility for a Queensland win on Doomben Cup day.

For the second week in a row, Forster looks to have the best chance among Brisbane's trainers to win a Group race when Too Good To Refuse runs the Fred Best Classic.

Too Good To Refuse is one of several three-year-olds in the Group Three race trying to gain automatic entry to the Group One Stradbroke Handicap on June 11.

The gelding produced the run of the day when he came from last to finish second in the Gunsynd Classic three weeks ago.

"I am genuinely excited about Saturday and the barrier draw was a relief," Forster said.

"We have been dogged by bad draws or should I say draws that have not suited us.

"But from barrier ten Ryan Wiggins should be able to do what he likes. I would expect to be closer this time with cover," Forster said.

Forster is resigned to Too Good To Refuse having to win on Saturday to be assured of a Stradbroke start.

"His rating is a bit too low to be a certainty to get a start. But if we can't get into the Stradbroke the Queensland Guineas will be ideal."

Gary Moore's Takedown and Kevin Kemp's Sold For Song will continue to chase Stradbroke berths in the Fred Best.
