Trainer Aidan O'Brien has confirmed Ascot Gold Cup winner Order Of St George will be entered for the Melbourne Cup.
The horse's majority owner, Australian Lloyd Williams, is keen to get him to Flemington in November but has warned he cannot win if he get more than 56kg.
"If he's absolutely anchored in it there is no point in bringing him all the way," Williams said last week.
O'Brien said a defence of the Irish St Leger was high on the agenda.
"He won't come back for the King George. We were always going to give him a break after this week and look at an autumn campaign," O'Brien said.
"I spoke to his owner Lloyd Williams last night and he is going to be entered in the Melbourne Cup."
Britain's RaceBets cut the Galileo colt from 20-1 to 11-1 for the Melbourne Cupafter his Ascot success last week.
The Australian TAB has Order Of St George favourite for the Cup at $10.
