Odyssey Moon to stay in Melbourne

Friday 24 June 2016, 9:33am

Odyssey Moon is the early favourite for an open handicap at Flemington after failing to get a flight to Brisbane for a Group Three sprint.

Trainer Robert Smerdon has been forced to scratch Odyssey Moon from Saturday's Healy Stakes at Eagle Farm.

The horse's original flight was cancelled because of mechanical problems and Smerdon was reluctant to subject him to a long road trip.

Odyssey Moon is at $5 to win the Mid-West Bellarine Hcp (1100m) at Flemington with Craig Newitt to ride.

The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained That's A Good Idea is the $4 favourite to win the Healy Stakes (1200m).
