Dee could add to recent city wins

Wednesday 29 June 2016, 8:06am

Michael Dee will be out to close the gap on Dylan Dunn at Sandown as the two battle for the Melbourne apprentices' premiership.

A Flemington treble on Saturday took Dee to 27 metropolitan wins for the season, three behind Dunn.

The two riders each have three rides on Wednesday after scratchings.

Dee's mounts include the Darren Weir-trained three-year-old filly Avenue Whisper who is favourite for the Polytrack Handicap (1600m).

Dylan Dunn is the son of senior jockeys' premiership leader Dwayne Dunn with the pair aiming to become the first father and son to win the titles with 10 meetings remaining this season.
