Trainer Gerald Ryan will use a late season two-year-old race as a guide to whether Foxy Housewife is up to the early spring features.
The filly goes to the 2YO Hcp (1200m) Randwick on Saturday off the back of an all-the-way win over the distance at Kembla Grange.
She will be joined in the race by stablemate Who Said It's Easy, a winner at Gosford two starts ago and fifth at Randwick on June 25 behind the highly promising Russian Revolution.
"Foxy Housewife is a nice filly who will probably go on to the spring," Ryan said.
"I'd like to think she can measure up.
"She is by Foxwedge and they seem to need time and she has matured nicely.
"Who Said It's Easy has been up a long time so he will most likely have a break soon."
The trainer will also have King's Troop at Randwick where the colt runs in the 1100m-benchmark 72 for three-year-olds in preference to a 1200m-race against older horses.
He was also entered for the A R Creswick Final at Flemington but did not perform well enough in a heat of the series for the trainer to take him back to Melbourne.
King's Troop is an example of a late two-year-old performing well in early spring races.
He ran second to future Group One winner Japonisme on debut last July before winning in the first week of this season.
He than ran second to Japonisme again in the Group Three San Domenico Stakes before he was given a spell.
In two starts this preparation King's Troop has run second to Spieth at Rosehill before failing on the straight course at Flemington behind Spieth again.
Stable apprentice James Innes will take three kilograms off the 61kg King's Troop has to carry.
Another three-year-old, Storm System, was also entered for two races and will run over 2000 metres against his own age.
"He is a nice horse going through his grades and has the makings of a handy stayer," Ryan said.
"King's Troop really just had a weekend away in Melbourne and I expect him to do better."
