Robert Thompson has been denied a 12th Jungle Juice Cup by fellow country champion jockey Greg Ryan.
Thompson had to settle for second aboard odds-on favourite Three Sheets on his home track at Cessnock on Tuesday after Ryan partnered Ultima Chance ($10) to victory.
Annandale Lass ($26) led in a high-tempo affair before losing her way in the straight and dropping out to finish third.
Ultima Chance's trainer Scott Collings made the journey from Goulburn to Cessnock and his success stopped Thompson from combining with trainer Jeremy Sylvester for a seventh Jungle Juice win.
"(It's our) first trip to Cessnock," Collings told Sky Thoroughbred Central.
"We brought two up, got beaten a short half-head with the first one in the second race and won the main race."
Collings said tongue-in-cheek he had no sympathy for Thompson, who rode a treble during the meeting.
The tables were turned earlier in the day when Thompson produced a winning ride on Happy Go Plucky, with Ryan aboard the Collings-trained And There Is More in second.
Ryan is second on the all-time Australian winners' list behind Hall Of Fame jockey Thompson.
