Lightly raced filly Yasnat has made her trip to Melbourne a successful one with victory at Moonee Valley extending her winning run for Matthew Dale's Canberra stable.
Yasnat was beaten in her first start as a two-year-old when trained by Mick Price in Melbourne but after almost a year off the scene, she made her return for Dale.
All her three wins this campaign, two at Canberra and Wednesday's front-running victory at Moonee Valley, have come on wet tracks.
Yasnat was taken to the front in Wednesday's William Hill Cox Plate on Sale Handicap (1000m) and was never headed, getting home by a long neck from World Of Hope who charged home from back in the field.
The victory of Yasnat was an important one for Dylan Dunn in his quest to win the Melbourne apprentices' premiership which he leads by four wins.
"She's a really nice type of filly," Dunn said.
"I think she just lapped up this wet ground. I felt like I was on a good track then.
"I thought when I got the 600 metres that I'd stoke her up and see what she's got, and she was too good."
